Frequently Asked Questions

About Our Shoes

Every pair we make is designed for one person: you. Instead of adapting a mass-produced shoe, we tailor the fit, heel height, heel shape, materials and finishing details to your measurements, your dress and your day. That is what #designedaroundyou means — and it is why a Jolie Moda pair feels different from the first step.
Comfort is built into every pair, not added at the end. Our shoes have soft, pressure-relieving padded insoles, and because the fit is made to your measurements, there is less pinching, slipping and rubbing. Choose a heel height you can genuinely walk and stand in, and tell us about your venue — we will help you balance elegance with endurance from the ceremony to the last dance.
Depending on the design, we work with leather, suede, satin, velvet, mesh, canvas and selected synthetic materials. Each one is chosen for how it looks, wears and feels against your foot. Materials are subject to availability; if the one you selected runs out, we will contact you to agree on the closest alternative before production begins.
Yes — every pair is handcrafted, and most are made specifically for you. Handmade shoes can vary slightly in color, texture, stitching and finish, and colors may look different from screen to screen. These small variations are part of the character of a handmade piece, not a defect.
We do. Alongside our bridal collection, we create shoes for engagement parties, bridal showers, editorial shoots, galas, bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groom, and other special events. Our non-bridal and catwalk collections follow the same made-to-order approach, so you can have a pair that fits the occasion and your feet.
Many designs can be made in satin, velvet, mesh or synthetic materials instead of leather. Options vary by style, so tell us your preference before you order and we will confirm what is possible for the pair you have chosen.

Yes. Visit our Reviews page to read stories and see photographs from brides who wore Jolie Moda down the aisle, and follow @joliemodaweddingshoes on Instagram for recent work. If you are considering a particular style, ask us — we can often share more photos or video of that design.

Custom Design & Personalization

Yes. Our custom design service lets you shape the color, silhouette, material, heel and finishing details around your dress and your day. Share your inspiration with us through a consultation and we will tell you what is possible for your chosen style, and what may need to be adjusted.
Yes. You can select a heel height from flat to high and choose from shapes such as flat, low, mid, high, stiletto, wedge and platform, depending on the design. Before you decide, think about your gown's hem and the surfaces you will walk on — grass, sand, cobblestone or polished marble. If you are unsure, ask us and we will help you choose.
Yes. If your feet fall outside our standard chart, choose the custom size option and enter your foot length, width and circumference exactly as measured. We make the shoe to the numbers you submit, so please double-check them; an additional custom-size charge is shown on the product page.
Yes. You can add custom text, an image, or both to your insoles, and each shoe can carry something different — for example, your wedding date on the left and your monogram on the right. Personalization is reproduced exactly as submitted, so check spelling, capitalization, dates and which text belongs on which shoe before you pay. We cannot correct it once production has begun.
You can upload an image for either insole. Use the clearest, highest-resolution file you have, crop it as you want it to appear, and make sure you have the right to use it. What you upload is what we print, and we cannot change it after production starts.
We can create coordinating pairs for bridesmaids, mothers and other members of your party, each made to the individual's measurements. Contact us early with the styles, sizes, quantities and your wedding date so we can confirm feasibility and plan production around your timeline.
We may photograph finished pairs for our portfolio and social media. If you would prefer your pair not to be photographed, please tell us in writing before you order. Your measurements, text and images remain yours and are used only to make and deliver your order.

Size & Fit Guide

Measure your feet at home, standing upright on a flat, hard surface with your full weight on the foot. Place your foot on paper, hold a pen upright and mark the tip of your longest toe and the back of your heel, then measure the straight-line distance in centimeters. Match that number against our size chart to find your baseline size — and always size to your longer foot.
Measure in the afternoon or evening, when your feet are at their largest after a day of walking and standing. Measuring first thing in the morning can give you a size that feels tight by the reception. Stand — do not sit — while you measure, because your foot spreads under your full weight.
Do not guess or simply size up. Send us your measurements and we will help you choose between the nearest standard size and a custom size. Bridal constructions can run slightly smaller than ready-to-wear shoes, so your centimeter measurement is a safer guide than the size you normally buy.
Our standard sizes follow our size chart, and our custom size option captures width and circumference as well as length. If standard shoes usually pinch across the ball of your foot or slip at the heel, custom sizing is usually the better choice. Tell us how ready-to-wear shoes normally fit you and we will advise.
For width, measure straight across the widest part of your foot — the ball — from edge to edge. For circumference, wrap a flexible tape around the ball of your foot, keeping it snug but not tight, with your full weight on the foot. Record both in centimeters alongside your length.
Yes, and we recommend it. Take a clear photo of your marked paper or tape measure and send it to us on WhatsApp before you order, or immediately after. Our team will review the numbers and confirm your size. If we need to clarify them, please reply promptly — delays in confirming measurements can delay your pair.
Leather and some fabrics may soften slightly with wear, but you should never rely on a shoe stretching into shape. Your pair should fit correctly from the first wearing, with room to move your toes and a heel that stays in place. If you are worried about tightness, contact us before production begins — not after.
Please do not convert directly from your street-shoe size. Brands and lasts vary, and bridal shoes are constructed differently. Measure your foot in centimeters and use our chart, or send us your usual brand and size together with your measurements and we will guide you.

How to Buy

Choose your style, then select your color where available, your shoe size or custom size, heel height and heel shape. Add any insole personalization, add the pair to your cart and continue to checkout, where you will enter your delivery address, choose a dispatch date and shipping method, and pay. Check every detail before you pay — especially your size and personalization.
No. You can check out as a guest. Creating an account is optional and lets you keep your order history, save addresses and return to your details more easily. If you create one, keep your password confidential and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
You will receive an order confirmation by email with an order number beginning with JM-. Please keep that number for any questions and check your spam folder if the email does not arrive. Production begins only after your payment has cleared; if anything looks wrong in the confirmation, contact us straight away.
Contact us immediately — ideally within 24 hours of ordering — and we will help if production has not begun. We can adjust your size, heel, address or personalization only before your pair goes into production. Once production has started, the order cannot be changed or cancelled, because your shoes have already been made for you.
Our team is happy to answer questions, review measurements and help you choose on WhatsApp or Instagram. Orders themselves are completed through the website so that your payment, order record and customization details are secure and correctly captured. If you need help at any step, message us and we will guide you through checkout.
Our standard production lead time is 14 days before dispatch. If your wedding is sooner, contact us before placing your order with your date and chosen style, and we will confirm whether we can accommodate it. We would rather be honest about timing than promise a date we cannot keep.
We use your contact details, measurements and personalization files to make and deliver your order, and to support you afterwards. We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use your measurements or insole images for marketing without your separate permission. For access, correction or deletion requests, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy Request".

Pricing & Payment

All prices are in Indonesian rupiah (IDR). If you shop in USD, we show an approximate price based on our current exchange rate; the final amount charged may differ slightly because of exchange rates and bank or payment-provider fees. PayPal is available for USD orders only.
The methods available to you are shown at checkout and may include bank transfer, Midtrans — which covers cards and supported local payment methods — and PayPal for USD orders. Payment providers handle your payment details under their own terms, and we do not store full card numbers.
Please pay within 12 hours of placing your order. If the payment has not cleared within that time, your order may be cancelled automatically. Production begins only after your payment has cleared, so paying promptly also protects your place in our production schedule.
Yes. Custom sizing and custom insole text or images carry an additional charge, which is shown on the product page before you add your pair to the cart. Shipping is calculated separately at checkout based on your destination and chosen service. International duties and taxes are not included.
Discount codes and vouchers are subject to the conditions shown when they are issued. Unless we say otherwise, they cannot be combined, are limited to one per order, have no cash value, and may be withdrawn if misused. We may also correct an obvious pricing error before accepting an order; if you have already paid, we will refund the affected amount.
Payments are processed by established providers such as Midtrans, PayPal and your bank, over encrypted connections. We receive confirmation of your payment status but do not store full card numbers. We will never ask for your password by email or WhatsApp — if a message asks for payment or personal details, contact us directly before responding.

Production & Lead Time

Our current production lead time is 14 days before dispatch. Because each pair is handmade, production can occasionally take a little longer; if that happens, we will contact you with an updated date rather than leave you guessing. The earliest dispatch date you can select at checkout already reflects this lead time.
Production begins after your order is confirmed and your payment has cleared, and after we have confirmed any measurements or personalization details we need. This is also the point at which changes and cancellations are no longer possible. If you are waiting on a measurement check, reply promptly so your pair is not delayed.
The date you choose at checkout is the date we aim to dispatch your order — it is not the date it will arrive. Delivery then takes an additional 3–5 business days within Indonesia or 3–10 business days internationally, depending on the service and destination. Customs processing can add further time.
We will contact you if production needs more time, and we will send tracking details once your parcel is dispatched. If you would like an update in between, message us on WhatsApp with your JM- order number during studio hours and we will check for you.

Shipping & Delivery

Yes. We ship throughout Indonesia and to international destinations. Shipping options and costs are shown at checkout once you enter your address, so you can see exactly what is available for your location before you pay.
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your destination, the weight of your order and the service you choose. Enter your full address — including the subdistrict where required — to see the available options and prices before you pay.

Within Indonesia we work with JNE, J&T and Lion Parcel. For international deliveries we work with international courier partners. The available services for your address are shown at checkout.

Domestic delivery within Indonesia typically takes 3–5 business days after dispatch. International delivery typically takes 3–10 business days, depending on the service and destination. These are estimates, not guarantees, and customs processing can add time.
No. We do not dispatch on weekends or Indonesian public holidays. Orders are prepared and handed to couriers on business days, so choose your dispatch date with that in mind — especially if your wedding is close.
Yes. Once your order leaves the studio, we will send tracking details by email or WhatsApp where the courier provides them. Keep your order number nearby, and contact us if the tracking has not updated for several days so we can follow up with the courier.
Contact us as soon as possible. We can usually change an address before production begins, and sometimes before dispatch, but we cannot redirect a parcel once it is with the courier. If a parcel is returned because an address was incomplete or no one was available to receive it, re-shipping costs may apply.
For international orders, any import duties, taxes or customs fees are set by the destination country and are payable by the recipient. They are not included in our prices or shipping charges. If these fees are refused and the parcel is returned to us, we may deduct the original shipping cost and any return shipping cost from any refund.
Contact the courier and us as soon as possible, and within 7 days of the expected delivery date. Send us your order number and clear photographs of the parcel and its contents. We will help you trace the parcel or resolve the damage; if the issue is ours, we will put it right.

Returns & Exchanges

All Jolie Moda orders are final, and we do not accept returns or exchanges. Because each pair is made specifically for you, we cannot resell it, restyle it or offer it to another customer. This applies to every order, including standard sizes, custom sizes, your chosen sole and heel, and insole personalization.
No. We cannot exchange a made-to-order pair for another size. This is why we ask you to measure carefully, use our Shoe Guides and confirm your size with us before ordering. If you realize a mistake before production begins, contact us immediately and we will correct it if we can.
Contact us within 7 days of delivery at [email protected] with your order number and clear photos. If the issue is ours, we will arrange a repair, replacement or refund, and we will cover the cost of returning the item. If it cannot be repaired or replaced, we will refund the amount you paid for it.
If a refund is approved, we process it within 5–7 business days. Refunds are made to the original payment method where possible. Your bank or payment provider may need additional time to show the funds in your account.
No. Nothing in our returns policy limits any rights you have under applicable Indonesian consumer protection law. Our promise to repair, replace or refund a faulty, damaged or incorrect pair is in addition to those rights, not a replacement for them.

Care & After-Sales

Apply a fabric protector suitable for satin or leather at least 48 hours before wearing, following the product instructions. If something spills, blot immediately with a clean white cloth — never rub, as rubbing spreads the stain and damages the weave. After wearing, let your shoes air for at least 24 hours, then store them stuffed with acid-free tissue in a cool, dry, dark place.
Contact us with photographs and your order number and we will assess what can be done. Some scuffs, sole wear and minor damage can be repaired or refreshed; structural changes and new personalization are more difficult once a pair has been worn. We will always tell you honestly what is possible before you send anything to us.
We keep order records, so start by sending us your original JM- order number and, if you have it, the date of your order. We can often recreate a previous design, subject to material availability and any changes to our collection. We will confirm the details and current lead time before you order.
We would love to see them. Send them to [email protected] or message us on WhatsApp, and tell us whether you are happy for us to share them. With your permission, we may feature your photographs and words on our website or social channels, always with credit to you.

Contact & Consultation

WhatsApp us on +62 812-3152-0370 if you are in Surabaya, or +62 896-1999-9787 if you are outside Surabaya or overseas. You can also email [email protected] or use the contact page on our website. For order questions, include your JM- order number so we can help you faster.
Our studio is open Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00 (UTC+7). Messages received outside these hours, or on weekends and Indonesian public holidays, are answered on the next business day. We do our best to reply promptly, but please allow us time during busy production periods.
Yes. Book through our contact page or message us on WhatsApp, and share your wedding date, dress style, venue and any inspiration you have. If you already have measurements, send them too — we can review your fit, heel choice and materials before you place an order. A conversation before you buy is the best way to avoid surprises later.
Bring or send your wedding date, a photo of your dress, your venue and heel preferences, and your foot measurements if you have them. Inspiration images are welcome too. With those details, we can advise on heel height, material, color and fit in one conversation rather than several.
Yes. Our studio has created pieces for prominent figures and editorial projects in Indonesia, and we welcome collaborations with stylists, bridal boutiques, production houses and event teams. Contact us with your brief, quantities and dates so we can discuss what is possible.

Studio & Locations

Our studio is at Milieu Space, 2nd Floor, Jl. Imam Bonjol No.27, DR. Soetomo, Kec. Tegalsari, Surabaya, East Java 60264, Indonesia. If you would like to visit, please contact us first to arrange an appointment so the right member of our team is available to help you.
We work from our Surabaya studio and ship to customers throughout Indonesia and worldwide. If you are outside Surabaya, we can look after you remotely — share your measurements and inspiration on WhatsApp, and we will guide you through sizing, design and ordering.
You are welcome to arrange a studio visit to discuss your design and have your measurements checked. Because every pair is made to order rather than pulled from a shelf, there is no ready stock to try on, so please contact us before visiting and we will set aside time for you.
